In recognition and celebration of their 100 year anniversaries in 2003, St. Margaret’s Hospital and Harley Davidson shared this special occasion at Starved Rock Harley Davidson in Ottawa. The Sisters of Mary of the Presentation (SMP), sporting their new, special “Heaven’s Angels” t-shirts, took advantage of a beautiful day to “ride” Harleys, and help commemorate their Centennial Celebration.
There is no short cut to longevity. St. Margaret’s Hospital’s longevity is the result of 100 years of commitment and dedication to a Mission of healing. St. Margaret’s will remain focused on that same healing mission through the next 100 years and beyond.
As part of its year-long Celebration, St. Margaret's has been holding monthly Patient Appreciation Days, when patients at St. Margaret's and Clinics receive a gift, such as a pin or a flower. All employees have received a Centennial Pin and a Denim Shirt, also in honor of the Centennial.
In addition, patients, visitors, volunteers and staff can look forward to upcoming historical presentations. Entertainment events such as a musical revue directed by Robert D. Manahan, Sunday in the Park, and a gala ball - La Celébration de Anniversaire - are also planned for later in the year. The year-long celebration will culminate in a specially celebrated Mass on Sunday, October 19, and everyone is invited to attend.
St. Margaret's is proud to share this momentous event with our community, as it is all being done in honor of the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation and their healing ministry at St. Margaret’s Hospital for the last century.
