Rehabilitation Services

Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy offers specially trained therapists who treat patients with many different injuries or conditions. Patients suffering from orthopedic, neck, back, knee or ankle injuries, and victims of strokes, heart attacks and arthritis can be treated through aquatic therapy.  A physician referral is needed to participate in aquatic therapy sessions. Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation is a program of medical care designed to restore the person with cardiovascular disease to a full and productive life. Cardiac Rehab offers education about heart disease and how to return to an active life through supervised, individualized programs for patients who have experienced a heart attack, open heart surgery or other cardiac condition. A physician referral is needed before entering this program. Exercise classes meet three times a week for eight weeks and are closely supervised. Industrial Rehabilitation
The Center for Industrial Rehab is conveniently located in Peru, near the intersection of Rt. 251 and Shooting Park Road on Rock Street. Strengthening exercises and safety and injury prevention programs are designed to return the injured worker to the workplace as quickly and safely as possible. Work simulation, work conditioning equipment, and educational programs are also offered at the Center. For more information, call (815) 223-8900.

Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is a powerful treatment, because it works on both the physical and psychological levels. St. Margaret’s Rehabilitation Department offers therapeutic massage and reflexology. For further information, call (815) 664-1539.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy at St. Margaret's assists the individual in achieving the highest level of independent function after an injury or hospitalization. Hand injuries, post-surgical hand rehabilitations, assistance in function after brain injuries and stroke rehabilitation are included in the Occupational Therapy program. Physical Therapy
Patients with a wide range of injuries are treated at St. Margaret's Rehabilitation Department. Patients who have sustained back and neck injuries, strokes, and muscular / skeletal injuries are treated by our licensed therapists, as well as patients in post-surgical rehabilitation.
