Patient Meals
St. Margaret’s Hospital Food Service Department is dedicated to providing you with nutritious and attractive meals.
Each morning on your breakfast tray, you will receive a menu for the following day. The menu you receive has been developed to meet the nutritional requirements of the diet your physician has prescribed for you. If for some reason your breakfast tray is held, an employee from the Food Service Department will deliver the menu to you. We ask that you mark the food and drink choices you prefer for all three meals.
After 9:00 a.m., someone from the Food Service Department will visit your room to collect your menu. At that time, if you need assistance, they will gladly help you complete the menu. We also have standard alternate choices for all meals that can be added to your menu and soft drinks are available with your regular meal service, if added to the menu. We ask that you keep the completed menu in your room until someone from the Food Service Department collects your menu. Please do not return it on your breakfast tray.
All questions regarding your diet nutritional therapy can be referred to our Registered Dietitian by notifying your physician, nurse of the food service staff person who collects your menu. A consultation will be arranged to discuss any concerns you may have.
Meals are serviced to our patients at the following times each day:
Breakfast – 7:30 a.m.
Lunch – 11:30 a.m.
Supper – 5:00 p.m.
If there is anything our staff can do to help make your stay at St. Margaret’s more comfortable, please let us know.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria is located on the ground floor and is open from 8: a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend and holiday hours vary slightly and are posted on the outside entrance to the cafeteria. Visitors are welcome at any time.
The cafeteria offers a variety of selections throughout the day with full meal service offered at the following times:
Breakfast – 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Lunch – 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Supper – 4:40 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Vending
St. Margaret’s Hospital offers two vending areas that are available 24 hours a day. There is one vending area located on the ground floor immediately next to the cafeteria that contains snack and beverage machines.
On the fourth floor in the surgical waiting area, there is a snack, sandwich, and beverage machine. A microwave oven, condiments, and tableware are provided for the convenience of our guests in this vending area.
