Today, the City of Peru has begun construction on West Street that will affect St. Margaret’s Health – Peru’s hospital campus traffic flow and entry points. Work is being done about midway up the block between 5th Street and 6th Street. The current closure of West Street is setup from just north of the St. Margaret’s Health – Peru parking garage to just south of the intersection of 7th Street and 6th Street. The parking garage will remain open through most of the construction.
Routes to use to get to St. Margaret’s Health-Peru:
Work will continue to be done north on West Street for the duration of the project. Ambulances or motor vehicles coming to the hospital from the north should use 11th Street and proceed around Washington Park to get to either Rock Street or Plum Street. Those coming from the south will travel northbound on either Rock Street or Plum Street as well to get to the Emergency Room entrance.
